Youtuber, profession of the future?
Youtuber, profession of the future?
The algorithm change hurts the young and the business is in the brands
VEGETTA777, elrubiusOMG, Wismichu, DanTDM are the names of some of the most famous youtubers among young Spaniards and also from the rest of the world. His videos accumulate visits on YouTube and have become a mass phenomenon and a machine to generate money.
Fast success and easy money that is not easy and not real. This phenomenon is becoming more and more widespread, and has become one of the most desired professions among young people. However, in Spain only 14% of them have enough income to live on their videos, as revealed by a study conducted by the communication agency Cohn & Wolfe and the Brantube platform.
The report ensures that about nine out of ten youtubers combine the management of their channel with other jobs. "Yes you can live on Youtube, and you earn money, but you have to work hard and have many visualizations to achieve it," says César Salza, journalist and author of "How to be youtuber and not die in the attempt."
In his book, Salza has surrounded himself with friends and experts on the Google video platform. Among the comments, Clipset, Techground (old Androtube), Android5x1, iSenaCode, EloyGomezTV and El Rincon de China tell their own experience on YouTube.
"Until I wrote this ebook I had never reflected on the possibility that many youtubers I know want to live on YouTube, to make videos and businesses through the Google platform, but few have an external project that can be supported by those viral videos. , which makes me wonder if it is a mistake to trust your future to a company that lowers your CPM (cost per thousand impressions) when it seems better, "explained Salza.
Nowadays, getting to earn money for these videos is becoming more complicated. The earnings are directly associated with the number of views, and only begin to generate revenue from 10,000 per video. "In Youtube you must have many reproductions to make real money, the real business as youtubers explained to me comes when you have the capacity to negotiate with advertising, sponsorship or other types of content," the journalist adds.
The Cohn & Wolfe and Brantube survey reveals that video generators on Google's platform often set requirements on brands before establishing sponsorship. In the book, Salza and the rest of the experts reveal the little tricks to be successful when marketing their video on the platform. "The youtubers, without a doubt, that win the most are oriented to videogames, but the fashion Vlogueras, the youtubers of technology and even the specialties in books have an audience", explains the author. However, the formula for success does not exist, "each teacher has his book, but I can say that the main key is constancy," he says.
