The tablets still do not like the market

Apple sells more iPads than its two main competitors

In 2017, a total of 163 million devices were sold, representing a 6.5% cut from the previous twelve months. A market dominated mainly by Apple's iPad that accumulate more sales than its two immediate competitors, according to data from the IDC consultancy.

Thanks to a 3% increase in sales, Apple managed to bring a total of 43.8 million devices into the market. The second position is the South Korean Samsung with 24.9 million tablets sold, but with a drop of 6.4%.

In third place, Amazon experiences a growth of 30% compared to 2016, but only manages to sell 16.7 million devices. With this sum of Samsung and the American remain at 2.2 million tablets of those sold by Apple.

The big loser of the global sales decline is Lenovo which is surpassed by the Chinese Huawei in the fourth position in the ranking of tablets. However, the market for this device once again shows signs of exhaustion, where only Apple holds the type in the face of the generalized decline in this segment.

Last week, Apple announced revenues of 5.8 billion dollars from iPad sales in the fourth quarter of 2017, representing a growth of 6% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
