The Spanish do not protect their mobile



Only four out of ten protect the Smartphone with password



Currently, nine out of ten Spaniards have a smartphone, according to the CNMC's panel of homes. High penetration in the Spanish population, but that is not yet aware of the risk and danger involved in losing it.

Phone numbers, social network accounts, bank or financial information or family images. This is the information stored by smartphones today, but 54% of Spanish users do not use passwords to protect their mobile devices.

Only 16.5% use anti-theft solutions, data that reveal the negative consequences that could result in a theft or loss of smartphone.

Today a large number of people use their mobile phones to access the Internet, 69.7% of Spaniards do so, while 37.9% use a tablet to connect to the Internet, according to data provided by Kaspersky .

For this reason, the fact of losing devices becomes a danger because other malicious users could use them to use the information or perform criminal activities.

One way to minimize risks is to protect the terminals with a password, something that half (54%) of Spanish users do not do, while 16.5% do employ anti-theft solutions, explains the cybersecurity company.

In this sense, it should be taken into account that 36.7% of users use their mobile phone to access their bank account from the Internet, a sensitive information that could be harmful in the hands of others, says Kaspersky.

Similarly, 58.8% of Spaniards enter their email from the smartphone and 54.1% do the same with social networks, services that together hold a large amount of confidential data.

Even so, users are not aware of the problem and less than half (46%) protect their mobile devices through passwords, while only 11.9% of users encrypt their files and folders.
