Summer, bad weather for mobile

Water, sand, heat, children and blows are the maximum summer "dangers" for mobile devices

Six out of ten inhabitants of the world population already have a mobile phone, a figure that increases to 88% in Spain, which leads the penetration ranking of unique users, according to the Mobile Report in Spain and in the World 2017.

A mobile user spends an average of 170 minutes a day using the device. Carrying mobile devices always in your hand or in your pocket causes accidents to double.

Four out of ten breakdowns that occur to electronic devices happen in the summer months. Being on the beach or in the pool with the smartphone is one of the most frequent images.

Despite the resistance to water, the smartphones' dips are the first summer accident. "In fact, many of the repairs are of water mobiles since, aquatic is not synonymous of submersible and, they do not support so much water neither depth as some manufacturers indicate", explains Sergio Khabrani, Director of Operations and Expert in repair of technology of TABILI .

Home remedies, such as putting it in rice, can be a temporary solution to take it to a technician because it usually absorb external moisture but internal components such as the plate will remain wet.

High temperatures are also enemies of technology. "Electronics work better in cool temperatures and, in addition, smartphones and tablets have metals and plastic parts that melt with excess heat," says José Luis Lasa, CEO and co-founder of TABILI.

Finally, going down to the beach with new technology entails another important risk: sand. If the device has little sand, it can be removed without rubbing, being careful not to scratch the screen, with a dry and soft cloth.
