Samsung gets a crystal that supports 26 falls without breaking
Protective glasses, covers and small airbags to protect the mobile from falls. The breakage of the screens is one of the most common breakdowns in the repair workshops of smartphones.
Samsung has proposed to eliminate this problem and has developed a flexible OLED screen for mobile devices rated as "unbreakable" that has received the official certification of resistance after overcoming 26 consecutive falls of 1.2 meters without suffering any damage, in addition to supporting temperatures extreme.
It is expected that the screen can also be used for other electronic products, such as car screens, military devices, video game consoles and tablets, reports Samsung.
The South Korean brand developed this flexible OLED screen with a material that is difficult to break and a layer of security plastic attached to it, unlike current products of this type, which make use of glass coatings and break when they suffer a strong impact .
The screen faced a drop of 1.2 meters for 26 times in a row, in addition to supporting temperature tests at 71 degrees Celsius and -32 degrees Celsius. The screen continued to function normally without damage to the front, sides or edges.
In addition, a test was performed with a drop of 1.8 meters, far exceeding the American military standard, after which the screen did not suffer any damage or failure in its proper functioning.
