A security problem in JobandTalent reveals millions of Spanish data
The company claims that no sensitive data has been exposed
The company Jobandtalent and that has an app to find work has suffered an attack and has put in danger the data of its users. Through an email sent to its subscribers, the Spanish company asks them to reset their password.
Jobandtalent suffered an unauthorized external access to its server on July 5, for which, as explained in an email sent to users, they had managed to access "limited information", specifically, to the email address, the name and the surnames and an encrypted version of the password.
According to the company, the team of engineers on the platform detected the intrusion and solved it "immediately".
The investigation they have conducted has not found evidence that "this incident has been repeated or that any sensitive information has been compromised".
In view of the security problem, the company's executives have decided to send an informative email to the 10 million users of JobandTalent asking for the reset of the password as prevention. "We have put this fact to the knowledge of the Spanish Agency for Data Protection with the intention of receiving their help in the investigation of the event," announces Felipe Navío, co-founder of Jobandtalent.
The Spanish startup was born nine years ago by Felipe Navío and Juan Urdiales. A successful business story that has also featured shadows especially in 2016.
A year later, the company lived a second foundation and a renewal of its business model that has allowed it to reach over five million in revenue per month.
