Samsung presents the first application of the museum developed for a permanent installation available for smartphone and tablet




The cultural dissemination has in the new technologies a helping hand that allows to transmit its content and awaken the interest of a public that perhaps otherwise would not seduce. In this way, museums are currently in a second or third digital revolution.

Ambitious and promising Multimedia content that completes the information that the user receives and access to works of art in a much more attractive, didactic and playful.

This audiovisual support is present in the Prado Museum and more specifically in the new setting of the 'Treasure of the Dolphin' - a set of 'rich glasses', which belonged to the Great Dauphin Louis of France (1661-1711) who, after his death, inherited his son Felipe V (1683-1746), first Spanish Bourbon.


The space offers visitors a trip through the work that includes valuable pieces and in a novel way, among which stands out the new digital experience proposed in collaboration with Samsung.

The new proposal, for which a digitization process has been developed for two years, is the first permanent installation of the Madrid art gallery that combines digital and interactive work and experience to access the collection in all its splendor.

The Korean company has developed together with the museum the first application of decorative arts for smpartphone and tablet, aimed at visitors of the installation as well as the curious who want to access it from anywhere through your phone.


The app allows you to know the details of the 254 pieces - the 130 works included in the app and 124 cases preserved in Spain - that together with another case preserved in the Louvre compose the treasure. Users can explore all the works thanks to the digitalization with 360ยบ images and zoom each work in high resolution .

 Likewise, the application indexes the materials with which the works were createdlike rock crystal, lapis lazuli or gems. A proposal to contextualize the installation before, during or after the visit.
